Early Slat Back Child’s Chair with overall simple construction, helping to date it to 1850, or earlier. Two rectangular back slats are of graduated width. The front posts, also graduate narrowing at the top and intersecting with the arms. The arms are flat planks cut in curved contours with the front posts mortised through them. The seat is rectangular rush. The lower slat has a make-do repair of waxed cotton binding it together.
Measures 34″ high, and 18 1/2″ to seat.
The seat is 14″ deep and 15″ wide.
